# ADR-0002 — POS terminal as the primary entry point

## Context

TinyPOS is used all day by a cashier, and occasionally by the owner for back-office tasks. The default landing should be the screen used most.

## Decision

Root `/` issues a 301 redirect to `/pos` (`routes/web.php:22`). `HomeController::index` also redirects to `pos`, and the Encore\Admin dashboard block below it is unreachable dead code. The cashier terminal — not a dashboard — is the home screen.

## Consequences

- 🟢 Cashiers land directly on the sales screen; the KPI dashboard (`/dashboard`) is a deliberate secondary destination.
- 🟢 The framework's `HomeController` Encore dashboard code is dead (documented in the auth/dashboard modules).
- 🟡 A permanent 301 is cached by browsers/proxies; changing the landing route later requires cache-busting awareness.
